Kempinski Hotel Corvinus in Budapest
The luxurious Kempinski Hotel Corvinus in Budapest opened its doors back in 1992 with 315 spacious and elegant rooms, 38 stylish and chic suites, restaurants, bar, spa and meeting facilities. It was the first five-star hotel specially built by a private commission after the fall of communism. The hotel was named after King Matthias Corvinus, who ruled Hungary in the late 15th century.
It is located in the center of Budapest, in a short walk to the city’s main attractions like the Great Synagogue, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Chain Bridge, Andrássy Avenue, and the Hungarian State Opera House, that after almost 5 years of closure it has returned to its former glory.
The 27-year history of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus speaks of the struggle and effort to make this hotel an inspiration for many others. The new ground floor that opened in 2013 was the main renovation of the hotel. It includes two lounges, two bars, and two restaurants. Additionally, the refurbished “ten rooms” event area was another main attraction introduced in April 2017. The hotel completed the room and suites renovation project in spring 2020.
