My top 3 fun things to do at home while social distancing

We’re living in a super crazy time right now, and there is no one whose everyday life is not affected by coronavirus in some form. Those who have stuck indoors for the foreseeable future are looking for things to do at home during this pandemic. Some of you are going crazy not able to go and do the things you normally would do.

While the world is social distancing, it’s important that this stressful situation doesn’t create distance in the relationships at home. I have pulled together 3 of my most positive, creative, helpful, interesting and entertaining activities to keep you going over the coming weeks. This is how I spend my days being entertained during this pandemic situation.

Learn to cook new meals with Chef Nacho

Since all our private and corporate events in the near future have been cancelled due to coronavirus, my husband and I may stick together for weeks or months under the same roof. We normally cook every day, even though we also like eating out. During this pandemic situation we cook more than ever, because I feel hungry in every 2 hours. As we do food shopping once a week, we like cooking Cuban and Mexican meals with ingredients that are easy to find in supermarkets during social distancing.

According to social distancing we decided to dedicate this extra time at home to create something new and started a free online Quarantine Kitchen cooking session on Facebook. Because we are so grateful for everyone’s support during this time and wanted to offer something in return. If you join us, you can learn how to cook some easy-to-prepare recipes with Latin flavor to help you with meal planning during this isolated period.

We go live on our Facebook page every Saturday at 12 pm CET. It’s an absolute fun and creative activity. Don’t forget to join our free event and we will have lots of fun together! Plus you can learn Spanish from Chef Nacho and Hungarian from me besides creating mouthwatering Latin-American dishes in the comfort of your home.

UPDATE: If you missed any of the live cooking sessions, we’ve got good news for you. We uploaded all the Quarantine Kitchen videos to Los Carballos’ youtube channel that you can find HERE.

Bring your body, mind and soul into harmony with Miki Molnár

Although it’s tempting to get into a pair of fluffy pajamas and wait this thing out from the couch, it’s important that we keep our bodies, minds and souls fighting fit. There’s never been a better time to take a deep breath and do some stretching. It’s more important than ever to be doing activities like yoga and finding our inner peace in this difficult and super bizarre period of life. Miki Molnár have offered up his yoga classes in English for free via Instagram.

After 3 years of practicing ashtanga vinyasa yoga and 10 years of bodyART experience I joined to the live classes on Miki’s Instagram very smoothly 5x a week since Budapest has been locked down. Even if you are a beginner or have never tried yoga at all you can do this home practice. Miki shows different variations of the poses. You just have to listen to your body and try to figure out what it’s telling you that you need.

Enjoy positivity of yoga during coronavirus social distancing and join Miki’s Instagram Live Session for mental health every weekday at 5 pm Lisbon time HERE.

UPDATE: Miki’s online yoga channel is available now. He offers weekly new classes with various different focus, special workshops, weekly Spotify playlist to your email and discount to all special events and retreats in the near future. Join HERE to go with the flow.

Organize your home with Marie Kondo

I can understand if you think organizing your home is not fun at all. Even if you know that the result at the end will be satisfying. We are all due a spring clean anyway but, given the current circumstances, why not take it a step further and organize every drawer, shelf and cupboard your home has to offer. Marie Kondo will help you create a stylish and functional home with strategies designed to store your stuff beautifully.

Her process, which she explains in the Netflix series, includes having participants go through their homes section by section. Then, when the items are gathered together, Marie Kondo asks the participants to go through the individual items one by one and if it doesn’t ‘spark joy’ it’s got to go. Isn’t it easy? 🙂

Netflix’s series “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo” have inspired plenty of people to declutter their homes. This reality show is the perfect thing to watch while perched on the couch, dreaming of a better you in the new normal. By the time you finish watching this series you will be inspired and want to start organizing your home right away. 🙂
